Using Real Ice in MNP Place to reduce energy consumption

Leverage digital technology to reduce energy consumption through arena score clocks and venue concession menu systems

Install motion sensors throughout all facilities to reduce energy usage, like automatically turning off lights in dressing rooms when not in use

Digital controls used to reduce heating/cooling for units serving spaces not being used
Optimize rooftop units condensing coils performance to improve their thermal efficiency
Replacing rooftop HVAC units at Prospera Place with dual fuel option
GSL engages utilities specialists to assess our facilities and provide recommendations for improvement

Management oversight

  • Partner with local farmers using sustainable growing practices 
  • Prospera Place Concession partnership to  serving local Craft
  • Engaged new chemical, food and packaging partner with a goal of transitioning to an environmentally friendly products (savings from change being applied to environment)
  • Coordinating deliveries to reduce trips and energy use

Water Management

  • Recycle the snow melt from ice cleaning to be re-used in our Zambonis
  • Transitioning to push showers

Waste Management

  • LED screens utilized, towards going paperless (venues and offices)
  • Venue recycling programs for cardboard, cans and bottles
  • Switched from buffet to a la cart, less waste
  • Transitioning from single use plastics (straws, cups) to reusable
  • Introducing electric Zamboni’s (starting with Prospera Place)
